Jim's amazing all alloy A
This A roadster was hand made in aluminium by Al Stevens.
Al's an old mate of mine and I can't believe the work he turns out of his one man workshop.
Got some cool pics you'd like to share?  mail me.

This little A roadster sits on a 108" wheelbase. Most dimensions are tweaked a bit this way and that -you can only do this when scratchbuilding.

Jim's apparently got shares in Solvol Autosol.

Arty shot through that all important English Wheel.

Car pictured at early stage in build. Engine is Riley 4 Cyl- (English Riley, not hopped up Riley A)

Early shot shows all major elements in place. Features full bellypan.

Detail shot shows impeccable workmanship in those out of sight places.

Tubular crossmember remains fully visible in finished article.

Handbuilt car gains a handbuilt nose. Front brakes are Riley, adapted to Ford spindles.

Detail shot of the finished floor area. Note perforated cover over the exhaust pipe, also 'false' floor plates.

Ain't she a beaut! Jim never did get round to putting a screen on this baby.
---oooOooo---
If anyone fancies having some work done by Al, don't hold your breath! You have to catch him when he's in the mood!
